8 Mood Enhancers to Keep You Balanced and Relaxed

TalkShop Mood Enhancers TipsMulti-tasking during the work week can take its toll. These, complicated with personal concerns, add up and can affect one’s well-being. Symptoms of stress include moodiness, irritability, and depression. Fortunately, there are simple remedies to take to work and more relaxing ones to enjoy during weekends. Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO shares these tips to relieve the tension:

1. Exercise. Walk briskly at least 30 minutes a day to feel energized. At work, a stroll around the block can do wonders in getting your bearing back or helping you gain a new perspective to problem solving.

2. Breathe deeply. When faced with a stressful situation, leave the area and find a quiet spot to do breathing exercise and stay calm.

3. Listen to music. It is therapeutic, no matter the type you prefer.

4. Drink your favorite smoothie. The natural, restorative powers of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs combine to help you feel relaxed. Banana, cucumber, avocados, pineapple, strawberries, coconut water are best bets.

5. Drink green tea. It contains L-Theanine, an amino acid that lends it flavor and boosts relaxation. Also relaxing are jasmine and chamomile varieties. The ritual of drinking slow while enjoying the enticing aroma adds to the relaxation.

6. Get enough sleep and give yourself the luxury of a “siesta” (afternoon nap) during the weekend.

7. Spend time with family and friends. Set it for the weekend and feel recharged right after.

8. Have some “me” time. Find time to do what you enjoy. You deserve it.
