I participated in TalkShop’s interview simulation. It was an extremely value-adding experience for me because the consultants were able to shed light into the elements of interviews that many have a hard time preparing for. We usually spend so much time trying to think of the answers that we end up not preparing for how we’re actually going to communicate them. TalkShop knows that the package is important and they will help you become that complete package. I learned a lot especially because the topics discussed are those that people don’t usually think of or prepare for when applying for jobs: voice, appearance, posture, and poise. I liked that there are two TalkShop interviewers so that different skills are given focus. The TalkShop consultants are frank and compassionate. They seem to really care about the interviewees’ improvement and career success. It made me realize that job application is so much more than just how good you are through the things you’ve done before. A lot of it is also about how you are able to sell yourself and communicate your values.

This is the only workshop I attended where I did not feel sleepy. The TalkShop Facilitators managed to keep us alive and participative. I learned a lot in subject-verb agreement, the exceptions, and the redundancies. The lesson on Technical Writing was one of my interests and the TalkShop Facilitators are excellent. The next time, I will be avoiding redundancies in my English usage.
