A Student Testimonial: Maria Rosewynn Anne Salvan

TalkShop studentIt’s been a while since the day I last stand in front to give a speech. And yet, this sort of experience still seems to me like something familiar. It’s familiar enough that, even though I could still feel the ghost of nervousness tugging at me, I can still speak as clearly as I do now. I can still say the words I want to say without fearing that they may be wrong or insignificant. Now, I stand here, delivering a speech much different from the sort I might have delivered only a few months back. This difference – this wonderful difference – is all thanks to TalkShop.

When I first walked through these doors, I decided to hold onto no expectations. After all, I was frequently disappointed with the speech classes I had before. But apparently, there was absolutely no need to do that. Every time I attended class, I would feel that it was a good idea to come. I would always leave the room with more insights and knowledge that what I had when I first entered. Right now, I could confidently say that a large part of my current speaking skills came from TalkShop.

With this, I would like to thank everyone who has served as my teacher and my guide throughout this whole program. Thank you so much for helping me experience the fun part of an activity that I once ever dreaded. I would also like to thank my classmates and friends who served as my companions in my journey towards self-betterment. Being part of TalkShop is something that will always be etched into my memory. Thank you for all the great experiences. I hope that, in the future, I could have more of these with you.
