Creative Writing Will Not Land You the Job – Creative Thinking Will

TalkShop business creative thinking tipsThese days, companies recognize it takes more than control and conformance to quality standards and work processes to drive success. Creativity has emerged as the most essential ingredient for an individual and company’s success. For many, creativity is a trait, one that lies in the domain of the few artistically inclined. The truth is everyone is creative. It is a matter of placing oneself in the right disposition and practicing the discipline to put this skill to regular use.

Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO shares her secrets to generating creativity:

1. Unplug yourself from information overload. Find moments to disengage from the Net, TV, and Smartphone. Often, one is barraged with too much information that he loses his ability to create ideas. Finding quiet time to reflect helps generate ideas.

2. Make it a habit to pursue inspiration in daily life. Try to see the connection in everything. Creativity is about relating separate things to come up with a fresh viewpoint. Use your imagination.

3. Keep a journal. Jot down all your ideas.

4. Distract your mind with sensory experiences – go for an invigorating walk, take a quick shower, drink wine in a good restaurant, enjoy a cup of coffee, listen to soothing music.

5. Hold brainstorming sessions with people and set them in a creative mood by keeping the mood light. Stay on track to keep generating fresh ideas.

6. Explore how old ideas can lead to new directions.
