The Demand for Teaching English

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) is emerging as a viable second profession or new career path for many professionals. The plus is one does not have to embark on a 4-year college course. Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO explains, “We offer a certificate course comprising 100 hours. TalkShop adopts the Integrated Language Teaching approach (ILT) that we introduced in our workshops in 2002. This fuses the creative learning style of the East with the communicative teaching approach of the West.

Viesca elaborates, “ILT interweaves all language skills- reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with grammar. Each is indispensable for effective language acquisition. This method reinforced with actual teaching practice equips one with the confidence to conduct English lessons for multi-level, multicultural students.”

In these times that require professionals to learn continuously to remain marketable, TESL offers a second profession for professionals to specialize in a field where the demand is global.

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” – Albert Einstein

TalkShop‘s world class training and learning system is backed by its ISO-certified training facility and its Civil Service accreditation.
