TalkShop’s Effective Communication for DTI Negosyo Center

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA continues to prepare for the challenges of the new normal.  On January 27 and 28, almost 100 Negosyo Center (NC) business counselors,coordinators, and employees will attend Effective Business Communication, a technical writing and presentation training program by TalkShop, the country’s leading institute for personal effectiveness, corporate protocol, and management communication.

Negosyo Center business counselors and coordinators are at the forefront of entrepreneurship development.  They deal with entrepreneurs and various sectors while promoting and facilitating ease of doing business for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).  Without a doubt, effective communication is critical in their roles; and this training program is timely.

Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO, will conduct the 2-day program designed to improve the learners’ skills in crafting masterful reports and effective storytelling.  It also aims to boost their confidence when presenting to audiences, whether small or large, in-person or online.“Even before the pandemic forced the shift to more time spent in virtual meetings,we at TalkShop have always championed oral and written business communication that is concise, straightforward, relatable, and actionable,” stressed Viesca, who’s conducted similar programs for the Department of Tourism, Department of Justice, Department of Science and Technology, Development Bank of the Philippines, United Nations among others.

She adds, “In business communication, our outputs – from simple, everyday documents to in-depth written reports to oral presentations – reflect the level of our professionalism.  They do not only provide information or speak of our views, they also represent who we are as employees.”

TALKSHOP TRAINS PHILIPPINE NAVY IN PUBLIC SPEAKING

Officers of the Philippine Navy, the naval warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and one of the country’s three uniformed services, get trained by TalkShop in Public Speaking and Power Presentation.

While typical military officers will not bat an eye when deployed to dangerous missions, a good number of them will cringe when tasked to deliver a speech.  At the same time, as military leaders progress up through the ranks, the demand for language proficiency becomes more pronounced. Thus, the Naval Education and Training Command , the Philippine Navy’s institution of learning,  has tapped the expertise of TalkShop, with Ms. Sheila Viesca as lead proctor to enhance the communication confidence, audience credibility, and authoritative eloquence of our men in uniform.

It’s easy to forget what we know about effective communication as we play our respective roles in the field.  Ms. Viesca has reminded me to keep getting better at it. This workshop helped me a lot in organizing my ideas more clearly and understandably, using various frameworks. Sometimes what we is just the mold to shape our gold. Kudos TalkShop!
