Do you ever find yourself wishing you could read faster? It might be because you have stacks of reading materials to go through, or simply because you want to improve on your reading techniques. Whether the reason is for an assignment or for personal development, TalkShop’s speed reading classes will definitely help you out.
What’s great when you learn speed reading is that it teaches you more than how to finish a book in record time. The benefits include:
• How to read more in less time. Speed reading classes can teach you how to double or triple the amount you read in the same amount of time.
• How to improve your concentration. You may worry that reading faster will make you understand less. It’s quite the opposite, actually. When you learn speed reading techniques, you will also discover that the faster you read, the more you pay attention and focus on what you are doing.
• How to understand material with greater depth and accuracy. As your concentration improves, you will better understand what you read. If you easily get distracted, or if your mind tends to wander while you are reading, then this is one skill that you will enjoy developing.
• How to retain information better. Let’s say you read a news article which features a topic your friends bring up later in the day. Suddenly, you can’t remember a single thing from the article and end up with nothing to contribute to the conversation. When you learn and practice speed reading, you will be able to remember information better because it helps you pay attention, concentrate, and understanding more. Thoroughly understanding is the key to absorbing and remembering what you read.
• How to enjoy reading more. Books open your world up to so many ideas, insights, and inspiration. It would be a shame to shy away from books just because reading seems like such a chore. The faster reading strategies in this course will help you build confidence and competence in your reading abilities, so you can enjoy reading more.
